Lauren Godbold and Michael Dovin became one on May 30, 2020 at the Mobile Yacht Club. Their special day began at a beach house on Dauphin Island, where their bridal party and family got dressed and prepared for photos on the beach! Lauren's emotional first look with her father was followed by a heartwarming reaction from Michael when he saw his beautiful bride for the first time right next to the water. Lauren and Michael clung tightly to each other, and there wasn't a dry eye on the beach! Afterwards, they traveled to the Mobile Yacht Club in style: Lauren and her bridesmaids rode in her grandfather's Cadillac Eldorado, while Michael and his groomsmen traveled via water in a boat!
Although their original plan of celebrating their marriage at the Dauphin Island Estuarium had to be altered due to coronavirus, their wedding at the Mobile Yacht Club was absolutely perfect in every way, from the gorgeous panoramic view of the serene water to the open yet covered floor plan for the reception! The pops of blue and aquatic elements were so cohesive with the waterfront venue, and the multitude of candle-lit vases and string lights provided a magical touch! I couldn't have asked for a more ideal and safe way to return back to capturing weddings after my two month hiatus due to the quarantine, and it was so great to see how couples are able to celebrate their weddings while simultaneously adapting to the new normal, complete with hand sanitizer at every table and vendors (and a few guests) in masks!
