My heart is still so full and happy from the beautiful wedding between my best friend Rachel Howorth and her perfect match Josh Macias! They became husband and wife on June 29, 2019 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Montgomery, Alabama and continued their celebration with a fun fiesta-styled reception at Rustic Acres in Ramer, Alabama. Rachel and Josh are two of the most kind-hearted, genuine, and gracious souls you'll ever meet, and it was an absolute honor to capture the pure love they share! In fact, being able to photograph their most special day was the cherry on top of the humbling privilege of being Rachel's matron of honor, and the task would not have been possible without the invaluable help of my phenomenal second shooter Sandra (and from my husband who managed to capture a few crucial ceremony photos)! Their sweet, welcoming, and supportive families also helped the day run smoothly!
Their wedding day was filled with so many beautiful, unforgettable moments that I will always hold dear. Although we made a last minute change for photo locations due to the threat of rain, we were able to capture their first look and portraits in the neighborhood where Rachel and I both grew up, which makes the photos even more special! Following their traditional Catholic ceremony, Rachel and Josh traveled in style in a cherry red vintage car to the matching red barn of their reception at Rustic Acres. They also perfectly blended their American and Mexican culture in such a unique way with colorful bouquets, vibrant multi-colored mason jars for centerpieces, painted clay pots, Mexican blankets on hay bales, brightly worded signs with fiesta puns, tiny piñatas sprinkled throughout the decor, "forever picante" hot sauce bottles and mini tequilas as favors, a Mexican candy table paired with a traditional southern dinner, a mariachi band, and even a post-send-off taco truck! Overall, capturing their wedding day was one of the most enjoyable and rewarding experiences in my wedding photography career, and I'm so thrilled to share their gorgeous photos!
